The Ladies European Tour will have an official workshop on site at ten tournaments this season.
Gene Fulton, last year’s Club Maker of the Year with 25 years’ tour experience, will provide the service.
The tournaments he will attend include the HypoVereinsbank Ladies German Open, ABN AMRO Ladies Open in the Netherlands, Portugal Ladies Open, AIB Ladies Irish Open, Ricoh Women’s British Open, Wales Ladies Championship, UNIQA Ladies Golf Open in Austria, Vediorbis Open de France Dames, Open de Espana Femenino and the Madrid Ladies Masters in Spain.
Gene is passionate about helping golfers to achieve their potential and has personally funded the purchase of a dedicated Ladies European Tour van, with the support of several golf manufacturers. He has already assisted several Ladies European Tour members, including Rebecca Hudson and Kirsty Fisher.
“I looked at all the men’s events and saw that every manufacturer has a quarter of a million pound tour truck and there was nothing for the ladies,” he explained.
“I started off by saying I would fund it for five years out of my pocket and we’ll see what we can get in sponsorship. I hope to get half of the cost covered and I’ve got more than that. We’ve had some major companies that have put money up, like Orka and Rife.”

The Official LET Workshop is supported by ORKA Golf, Rife Putters, Nippon Shaft, Aldila Shafts, FlightScope, 2 Thumb putter grip, Snake Eyes Custom, Golf Pride, Win Grips and Shaft Skinz.
“I couldn’t do this without the sponsors. To have that many golf shafts, that many grips, all the accessories and all the tooling. If I had to go and buy that and kit it out I would probably get no change out of six figures,” Gene said. “I’ve been quite careful with the companies that I’m dealing with. I want up-and-coming companies that are looking to push the boundaries of golf. I want the players to be playing with the best equipment around.”
Sally McPherson, Membership Manager for the Ladies European Tour, commented: “We are delighted that these manufacturers have supported Gene and made this possible. The workshop will provide a much needed service to the Ladies European Tour membership.”
The Ladies European Tour, which this year features 26 tournaments in 21 different countries, prepares to resume its 2009 schedule from April 23-26, with the Comunitat Valenciana European Nations Cup at La Sella Resort in Alicante, Spain.
